News For YouNotify ProAssurance of Licensing Investigations
Most medical license investigations are initiated when a disgruntled patient files a complaint with the state medical board. The vast majority of these investigations do not result in findings of professional incompetence or licensure sanctions. However, some do, which often become matters of public record. It is vitally important you notify us of any investigation or proceeding against you by a state licensing board. Occasionally, such investigations may also signal an impending medical professional liability lawsuit. Additionally, if you are named as a defendant in a professional liability lawsuit, be sure to notify your claims specialist and defense counsel of any pending or closed state licensing investigation, regardless of the outcome.
