Online Loss Prevention Seminars
"What Did the Doctor Say?"
Learning Objectives:
Participation in this seminar will better enable participants to:
- Develop an office policy for limited English proficiency (LEP) and "low literacy" patient populations; and
- Access, when appropriate, at least one language assistance tool or resource for LEP or low literacy patients.
Course Description:
The number of patients who do not speak English is increasing; consequently, the
number of patients who cannot read or write in English is also increasing. We will
define limited English proficiency and low health literacy and how physicians can
assist these patients in obtaining health care in the United States.
